Juliette brought her knowledge and experience of diversity and OD skills to co design and deliver a Board level leadership programme including one-to-one coaching and group facilitation. The issues were often sensitive and business critical and the programme navigated team and organisational dynamics. Juliette’s expertise in creating an inclusive environment where leaders were open to learning and change helped participants develop their own capabilities and take practical actions to resolve the issues identified. – Dr Gillian Shapiro, Shapiro Consulting
The coaching sessions I received from Juliette were beneficial in many ways, and ultimately I believe contributed to me securing my first SCS (Deputy Director) post. Juliette was a thoughtful and insightful coach. Her listening skills are second to none and I also valued her ability to challenge me in a way that made me think more deeply about scenarios or my own skills. Her coaching sessions really challenged me to think about my own skills and abilities and to develop strategies to improve these. Always impartial and supportive, I looked forward to her sessions as a mechanism for helping me to improve my effectiveness in my day job, but also to help me progress my career. – Claire Fry, Chief Information Officer, Ministry of Defence

I met Juliette first through the Institute for Equality and Diversity Practitioners – IEDP when we sat on an interview panel to recruit new non-exec’s. She immediately inspired me with the breadth and depth of her knowledge about good recruitment practice and high levels of integrity.
Later when my business needed to employ associates I immediately asked Juliette. She worked with several clients on a consultancy and development basis. Every client saw her ‘A Game’ and they were all delighted. Our work included an OD piece with a major global business and Juliette worked closely with me from the start; from leading the bid stage to advising on diagnostics, carrying out interviews with a wide range of stakeholders from Directors to front line staff at entry level. She adapted wonderfully to different people and quickly saw what would work best with which groups and individuals.
Her reports are succinct and to the point making it clear what the client stakeholders needed to know and the action they needed to take. Never losing sight of their motivators and level of knowledge of OD, Juliette’s work made things clear and straightforward for our clients. Recommendations have been implemented some bringing benefit to the recruitment process with resultant increase in the diversity of successful candidates.
After this major work Juliette also worked with several of our smaller private sector clients. Her straightforward but relaxed way of working was appreciated by small business owners – she zoned in on where the immediate risks were then moved on to more strategic, long term change in approach where they could immediately benefit through their tenders and bids.
Juliette is a consummate professional who works with integrity at all times and with the client needs foremost. I would love to work with her again and would not hesitate to recommend her for OD; talent strategies; inclusive practice and general HR and discrimination law work with business. – Julie Kaya, Director of Sateo – Sustainable advantage through equality in organisations
I have worked with Juliette Brown at various times over the past 9 years. On each occasion, I have been extremely impressed with her ability to understand our needs and offer creative and workable solutions.
I first worked with Juliette while based in the Mayor’s Office at the Greater London Authority. Juliette developed and ran a tailored coaching and development programme for women. As one of the twenty women on the programme, I received one to one career coaching from Juliette. Juliette skillfully and sensitively challenged me to set and achieve personal and career goals. With the benefit of Juliette’s wide-ranging expertise and her insightfulness, I was able to clearly define and work towards my future aspirations. The programme ran for 5 years and served over 80 women.
I also worked with Juliette while at London Councils, a think tank and lobbying organisation that promotes the interests of London’s 33 boroughs. Juliette provided coaching to a member of my staff supporting her to develop the confidence and assertiveness to improve her performance at work.
This year, I have worked with Juliette at the London Borough of Camden. Juliette’s depth of experience and expertise in organisational development, diversity and HR supported the induction and training of my newly formed team tasked with supporting local politicians. Juliette worked closely with my manager and me to design and deliver a tailored team-building event. This included training staff in facilitation skills to enable them to manage their own action learning sets.
Juliette also worked with us to design and deliver a workshop on diversity and inclusion. The workshop helped the team to develop a deeper awareness and understanding of the needs of Camden’s diverse population and how best to tailor service delivery.
Juliette’s thorough understanding of our needs and the political context within which we operate supported us to formulate realistic and achievable objectives. Juliette delivered the face-to-face elements of the training with professionalism and an open and friendly approach that put staff at their ease and encouraged them to participate and work together inclusively.
I would thoroughly recommend Juliette to any organisation looking for organisation development support through leveraging the potential of their human resources and enhancing service delivery. – Esther Thomas, Head of Member Support, London Borough of Camden
“I met Juliette when I paticipated in the Women’s Learning Development Programme at the Greater London Authority in 2008. As part of this programme, she acted as my coach, in addition to leading workshops and action learning sets.
When I began this programme, I wasn’t really focussed on what I wanted to get out of my career and indeed my life, it was Juliette with her patient, understanding and gently probing nature in our coaching sessions that helped me to define further what I wanted from life. In addition to this, Juliette worked with me to create a development plan with realistic and SMART goals for me to achieve. Juliette was extremely supportive when helping me to investigate different options for my career advancement and also helped me to think outside of the box, exploring different opportunities and options.
18months on, I have managed to take a few steps up the ladder career and home life wise thanks to Juliette’s perservance, guidance and support.
The Women’s Learning Development Programme itself was incredibly well thought out and enabled a group of women from very different backgrounds and outlooks to work together to form a greater understanding of one another and oneself.
I would readily recommend Juliette as a life coach and also to lead any form of development programme.” – Jo Smith, Senior Project Manager, Transport for London
I’d been unhappy in current role over the last couple of years, feeling lost with a lot of skills and certain that I have limited future in my existing career. I knew I needed to change my thinking and have a strategy for changing my career, but I didn’t know how or where to start. I was so stuck; I felt frustrated sometimes and anxious too. I found Juliette (JJB consulting), who was recommended by my line manager.
I knew she was right for me from the first meeting. She’s professional, warm, welcoming, kind, easy to be around and so she put me at ease really quickly. More importantly she’s clearly enthusiastic, committed and passionate about coaching. I found her very intuitive, an attentive listener, challenging, thorough and always well-prepared
The output is some really deep stuff that has been useful in helping me to be more fulfilled in my career (and my personal life too). I have a clearer understanding of who I am. I have a clear direction for the future, the immediate steps I need to take and above all, certainty of what I want from my career. I feel fulfilled and motivated, energised and in control of my career. And this, in turn, makes me feel better in my personal life too.
Juliette helped me work out for myself what I would find fun, exciting and meaningful to do and now I’m on this journey. I have moved from being stuck to being clear on my career path. I would definitely not have got to this place so quickly and with so much certainty without her. Choose Juliette. She’s brilliant! – Janette John.- Senior Officer, London Borough of Camden
I have had the pleasure of working with Juliette for 14 months on two of our high profile schemes. Brunel University has two well-established and award winning professional mentoring schemes designed to prepare students for the graduate recruitment market. The schemes identify and support students under-represented in higher education. Mentors come from the public and private sector and include companies such as PriceWaterhouseCoopers, The Royal Bank of Scotland and Cap Gemini.
Juliette worked with us as a consultant and her expertise on all aspects of mentoring, coaching and project management were invaluable in helping to ensure that best practice was implemented and adhered to at all times. Under Juliette’s management the schemes attracted a record number of participants as well as new employers. Juliette designed and delivered introductory training materials for mentors and mentees and provided on-line and face-to-face support for participants throughout the scheme. Juliette was responsible for liaising with external agents and senior managers within the University; she was able to establish effective working relationships quickly. Juliette’s drive for high standards enabled her to improve the monitoring and evaluation systems to further enhance the schemes. We were privileged to have her working with us.
Juliette’s vision of how the schemes could become ‘outstanding’ is an indication of her ambition to achieve excellence. She is a pleasure to work with and her commitment, expertise and professionalism have been greatly valued and appreciated by all the staff at the University. – Dr Beverley Crooks, Widening Participation, Brunel University.
